Matthew Choate, CSCS, B.S. Dietetics and Food Administration,Owner of XCell Fitness Academy.
Matthew attended CSULB where he received his degree in Dietetics & Food Administration. He has been a personal trainer for the past 5 years, and received the Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification from NASM. He then continued his studies and received his degree in nutrition and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist-NSCA. Matthew has a life long passion for fitness and nutrition and is the creator of the scientifically based X-Fit program at XCell Fitness Academy.
Cory has been a personal trainer for the past 5 years, and a fitness enthusiast his whole life. Fitness was always something that came natural to him and was always an outlet for him. Having family members who have suffered from chronic illnesses and weight issues, fitness to him became his way of life. He now lives everyday trying to impart his passion to others. Cory has been an athlete his entire life playing football, volleyball, track, and basketball from grade school to the college level. After playing in the Junior Olympics for volleyball he then became an amateur bodybuilder at the age of 18. He is now an accredited NPC Men’s Physique athlete on a journey to compete in Mr. Olympia.
Dylan Stalker, ACSM, B.S. Kinesiology
Dylan was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and attained his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at California State University Long Beach. He believes that fitness is about becoming the strongest, most capable version of oneself, both physically and mentally. Dylan has years of experience working with a range of beginners to advanced individuals, and currently works with professional motorsports athletes as well. Aside from working out, Dylan enjoys all things Star Wars, hiking, movies, and photography!
Dylan is currently CPR/AED certified and holds his training certification under the American College of Sports Medicine.
Steve McCarthy is a highly sought after Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He runs certification programs for strength coaches and personal trainers. He has given lectures around the U.S. and has 15 years of experience as a Strength & Conditioning Coach. Steve is known for his remarkable abilities to increase strength, speed, flexibility, & endurance. In college he studied kinesiology and is certified in 6 nationally recognized organizations.
Steve McCarthy is also the founder and owner of McCarthy’s Training System. He has worked with every level of athlete from everyday individual to NFL players. Pro MMA Fighters, Pro boxing, and Olympian athletes. With all his experience, years of hard work and dedication he is proud to present a Training System uniquely designed around every type of individual from post surgery rehabilitation to hardcore workouts maximizing your strength, power, and overall explosiveness to enhance every aspect of your athletic performance.
Ginny Saumier-Sugita is a NASM certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She trains clients privately and teaches at both Fitness 19 in Long Beach and Xcell Fitness Academy in Signal Hill. Ginny’s expertise also involves kickboxing, working with moms and nutritional guidance. When she’s not working, she loves to shop and hang with her two young girls, teaching them healthy cooking & daily physical activity.
Theo Sheridan, CSCS, B.S. Exercise Science
Theo was born and raised in Long Beach, but got his degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University Nebraska after accepting football and academic scholarships. From there he pursued his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA and has been personal training ever sense. Theo has worked with a variety of clients ranging from those post-surgery to power lifting to fat loss. He trains privately at 24 Hour Fitness in Cerritos.
